Breakthrough Photothermal Therapy (PTT) with EmunDo® and The FOX 810 Laser

EmunDo anti-bacterial treatments are the latest breakthrough for a germicidal effect without antibiotics. The specially formulated dye is selective and only accumulates on inflamed tissue and cancer cells for a remarkably simple application. When stimulated with irradiation by the FOX 810 Laser, a local and purely thermal process with a bactericidal effect takes place effectively killing all gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This efficient wound management therapy is painless and allows for faster, safer healing. EmunDo dye is completely biocompatible with a long medical history in oncology and ophthalmology.

The EmunDo® Therapy Concept: Liquid EmunDo + Laser Emission = Zero Bacteria

EmunDo PTT is a safe controllable process based on physical mechanism of action in contrast to PDT - photodynamic therapy which is based on an uncontrollable chemical mechanism of action with a self-reaction effect of the dye.

EmunDo product packaging and an open package showing three product trays in each box.

EmunDo® PTT offers the following benefits:

- Painless, non-invasive treatment

- No antibiotics are necessary

- Faster healing and free of side effects

- Effective in difficult to reach areas

- Iodine-free dye, hypoallergenic

- Gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria cannot survive this treatment

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EmunDo®?

EmunDo® is a special type of Indocyaningreen, called Infracyangreen (ICG,MW775), which is free of iodine. Therefore, it is compatible with allergy sufferers. Laser radiation is necessary to get an antibacterial impact. The predefined concentration of the mixed-up liquid provokes a pure thermal effect without any chemical reactions. EmunDo® applied without any laser irradiation is without an effect.

Is EmunDo® toxic?

The tricarbocyanine dye in EmunDo® contains Indocyanine green (ICG), which has been extensively tested for biocompatibility. Since 1956 it has been widely used to measure blood flow through various organs to determine the cardiac output, the cardiac ejection fraction and liver function diagnostics. Additionally, ICG is used in ophthalmology as a contrast agent.

What are the storage conditions?

Store dry and dark in the closed blister at 15°C to 25°C. 2 years shelf life. Clumped powder in the vial does not reduce the quality. After mixing, a homogeneous solution must be obtained.

How long can EmunDo® be kept after mixing up?

Due to chemical reasons EmunDo® can be kept for approx. 6h. Store the vial with mixed EmunDo® in a dark place.

What light sources are used and are they harmful?

EmunDo® is activated using a laser light wavelength of 810 nm. The laser light is so low in energy that the healthy tissue surrounding the treatment area is not affected. In fact, similar laser light energy is used for biostimulation treatments (Low-level-laser-therapy) for a wound healing effect. Therefore, this treatment has the added advantage of achieving excellent cosmetic results with minimal risk of scarring.

Is it possible to use a different laser with 810 nm?

No because EmunDo® is approved as an accessory for FOX Laser 810 nm. The dye is not registered for a different laser system.

Is it possible to use another laser from A.R.C.?

No because EmunDo® needs 810 nm to generate the thermal effect. Another wavelength will not be absorbed by EmunDo®.
